My sweet heart and I love to travel, when our second Sun arrived into our lives we decided not to stop travelling because of her. We would adapt to hr presence and would include her in all our trips.
We are from Rio, we started slowly, wamted a place nearby. I chose to spend a few days in Itatiaia, about 180km away from RJ. I wanted a resting place, with entertainment and food options and that would accept our dog.
Car trip to Itatiaia. Each one in their car seats. Safety first. The best option at the tie was Pousada Esmeralda. (http://www.

We picked the lake chalet, that seemed to be the most comfortable one ( and it was indeed: one of the few - or the only one - with air conditioning and cable tv). It included 3 meals (simple but tasty food - the restaurant is quite beautiful, the candlelight dinner was a good moment). It was all very good. The car access was easy, with no trouble. We had luck with the weather. We had 3 sunny days.
I was breastfeeding, what makes it a lot easier. We didn´t have to worry about sterilizing feeding bottle, food preservation... but it didn´t stop us from taking our whole house in the trunk.
We took the items below with us and were very useful:
portable crib (not all that portable) + mattress + cover
mosquito net
mosquito killer bat
rechargeable lantern
baby pacifier and lots of diapers
Sunscreen (even though all of them are indicated from 6 month-old - we used Mustela baby)
Baby rocker chair (it was very useful, we would enjoy the pool while she would observe us under a sunshade in the early morning or late afternoon, and the most important of all: she would stay calm while we had a meal)
Bath tub
I rested a lot, with no cell phone, no computer... I read a lot, enjoyed the sauna (not staying for long to avoid dehydration), swam a lot in the pool, played with our dog (who loved it! Specially running after the ducks and demanding that they would stay inside the lake). I liked the place, the price was worth it. We intended to walk around the Itatiaia Park, which we had known a few years ago e loved, but we were so well placed we gave up, we just stayed at the inn, that is really nice. The only problem was the bathroom, that wasn´t so clean, but I asked to improve it the next day and it was great. The bed sheet was perfect, the chalet was huge and very comfortable, with a great hammock to sleep on with our baby on our belly.
Resting, great trip. Conclusion: we realized that it was time consuming, everything took longer to get going, but having our pumpkin beside us mad it all worth it. The balance as definitely positive.
